GHG Quantification

We apply internationally accepted science and standards to quantify the greenhouse gas removals achieved through mangrove restoration and protection.

๐Ÿ“€ Baseline Assessment

We assess emissions under business-as-usual conditions to establish a robust baseline.

๐ŸŒฟ Carbon Removal Monitoring

We monitor biomass, soil carbon, and hydrological changes using field data and remote sensing.

๐Ÿ“„ MRV & Reporting

Our quantification process ensures MRV compliance and supports verified climate finance mechanisms.

Our Methodology

We follow internationally recognized carbon accounting methodologies to ensure scientific integrity, transparency, and MRV compliance.

๐Ÿ“š VCS Methodology

We apply Verra's VM0033 methodology for tidal wetland and seagrass restoration to quantify carbon removals.

๐Ÿ“ Site-Specific Modeling

Field data and GIS tools are used to model biomass, soil carbon, and hydrology at high resolution.

๐Ÿ”Ž Auditable Documentation

All data, assumptions, and results are documented clearly to enable third-party verification and validation.

Project Overview

Project Title: Conservation and Restoration of Mangroves in the Coastal Blue Carbon Ecosystem

This initiative, led by THE MARIN in collaboration with the Environment Without Borders Foundation, focuses on large-scale restoration and protection of coastal mangrove ecosystems, which are critical carbon sinks and biodiversity hubs.

Mangrove ecosystems, covering over 525 hectares across 28 locations, face threats from coastal erosion, land-use change, and ecosystem degradation. These areas store vast amounts of carbon in biomass and soil and are vital to local livelihoods and climate resilience.

Restoration will scale across 6,406 hectares and combine community-led planting, natural regeneration, and assisted recovery supported by remote sensing and scientific verification frameworks aligned with leading carbon standards.

The project is expected to sequester over 5.26 million tCOโ‚‚e over 30 years, while creating jobs, restoring biodiversity, and enhancing coastal protection.
